A new release of the Bangla spell checker software is now available. The new release 1.02 has a plugin that hooks with MS Word and can can perform spell check on any documents open in Word. This feature depends on the OLE Automation feature of Word and Windows so is not avalable on Linux or Mac version of the spell checker. This new release does not have any updates on the dictionary as yet. The new version can simply be overwriten on the old one, or can be freshly installed after the old version is uninstalled. |

 We are happy to announce the release of Linux version of our Bangla Spell Checker. Like the Windows version it is fully Unicode compatible and works on utf-8 and utf-16 (both big and little endian) texts. It can open large text file, or get text from clipboard and then check spelling of the Bangla texts. Since, the spell-checker is written for Unicode encoded Bangla texts, it would require Unicode supports from your operating system. This includes text input system as well as proper Bangla font. Some directions are available on the Internet.
Download the spell checker software for free. Please note, the Linux version of the Spellchecker is fully featured with no limit of lifetime unlike the Windows version. However, to get support you may need to buy a license. Details would be published in due time. |

 We are delighted to announce the release of Bangla Spell Checker AponaBanan. It is fully Unicode compatible and works on utf-8 and utf-16 (both big and little endian) texts. Apona Banan can open large text file, or get text from clipboard and then check spelling of the Bangla texts. Currently we are using the Bangla word list developed by Ankur group as the dictionary. Apona Banan has been written using cross platform GUI library, so it can run on Windows, Linux and Mac OSX and many other operating system. Currently only Windows version is available; other versions would be make available depending on user demands. Since, our Bangla Spellcheker is written for Unicode encoded Bangla texts, it would require Windows 2000/XP/Visa or other Unicode suppored operating system. You also need to setup your system to properly view the Bangla texts. Some directions are available on the Internet. To input Bangla texts you would need a text input software like Avro. Download the spell checker software for free. Please note, the trial version of the Spellchecker is fully featured but has a lifetime of 60 days. After 60 days it will stop working. Rupantor is a conversion tool designed for converting Bijoy to Unicode. It can directly convert Word documents written using Bijoy or similar fonts. The converter outputs the texts in Unicode text format. This is a nice little application with very simple user interface. The only limititations of this Bijoy to Unicode converter are that this particular version is tied to Word 2002 and may not work with other versions.
